The initial plans for Kingley Gate were submitted in 2010 by Gleeson Developments Ltd (planning application) and “The proposals would create a sustainable urban extension to Littlehampton providing up to 600 dwellings (of which up to 30% will be affordable), 4,000 sq m of employment floorspace, small scale local facilities, open space and other related infrastructure1.

I’m not sure how far Gleeson got with construction, but at some point the development was taken on by both Bellway Homes and Barratt Homes and completed in 2019, although (as of June 2021) the complete site has not yet been handed over to the Kingley Gate Management Company.

The road names of Kingley Gate are taken from various sources, local figures and mostly, random names from the Littlehampton War memorial. The list of sources can be found here…
